With the announcement of Phase 3 set to be released at this stage around June 18th, the JNA committee have been putting together proposed dates for the winter season. Please note that the following dates are subject to change dependent on Government and NWA guidelines.
Saturday June 27th for all 7&U-12&U teams
Monday June 29th for all 13&U - Opens teams
Saturday September 19th
Monday September 21st
These dates would allow for 13 rounds of games. Fixtures would run through the July school holidays and finish at the end of Term Three in time for the September school holidays, and the Fuel To Go and Play Association Championships with the proposed rescheduled date being the weekend of September 26-29th.
There will be no finals played in the winter competition this year. The top of the ladder will be announced the Premiership team.
A possible regrade will be held after five rounds in the week of July 28-31 (TBA).
If court restrictions remain the same (i.e., use of only 6 courts) then this option will be considered.
Same dates as above but will include a Tuesday night competition.
Our aim is to keep our season as normal as we possibly can in these changing times, while still adhering to all COVID-19 guidelines. In the event that court restrictions are not eased for Phase 3, we will not be able to safely fit our Monday night competition into one night so will need to split that competition over two nights. In that case, we will be playing our 13&U and our Opens teams on a Monday night (could be 3 time slots or possibly over two time slots of 6pm and 8pm - those times will be confirmed once we know court limits).
Our 17&U teams will move to a Tuesday night for their games.
We are hopeful that Phase 3 will see the court restrictions eased and this option will not be necessary, but we do need to plan for all scenarios. If we have to move our Monday night competition into two nights for this season, in the interest of trying to make as few changes as possible we will not change back to one night even if restrictions lift later in the season.
Note: This option will affect those clubs training at the HBF Arena Joondalup on a Tuesday night
If dates are moved later than June 18 for Phase 3 to begin, we will adjust our start date. If things get pushed back further than a July 11th start date, we will need to consider cancelling our Winter season and instead looking to extend our Spring season.
Any information regarding the fees will be finalised once we have confirmed dates for a start to a winter competition and clubs advised accordingly.
Once again, we thank all clubs for their patience and understanding as we work our way through these extremely unprecedented times. We will keep you updated as soon as dates for Phase 3 and the changes they will bring are released to us so that we can confirm dates for everyone.
